CANoli AI-native CAN bus analyzer
Stop searching through CAN logs in a spreadsheet, or pasting them into an AI chatbot.
CANoli connects your AI agent straight to the bus and lets it run the app for you: reading traffic, searching the log, and building charts from the real data.
Founder's Edition: lifetime upgrades, limited to the first 25. Use code HOLYCANOLI for $333.
Native on macOS, Windows, and Linux. Connecting to a real CAN bus needs a supported adapter, currently PCAN, with more coming soon.
Let your AI do the log work
We've all worked a CAN log one of these ways:
CANoli changes that. It connects to your AI agent over MCP and gives it direct access to the live bus and your real databases, so your agent does the work: decoding unknown IDs, searching the log, flagging anomalies, and building charts from the actual data.
Everything you need to work with CAN, in one app
Live Trace
Watch incoming traffic grouped by ID, with bus state, frame counts, and load at a glance.
Database editor
Build and edit .dbc and .sym databases, then watch raw bytes turn into named signals. The editor is free forever.
Transmit
Send one-shot or periodic frames, or drive a signal with a sine, square, triangle, or sawtooth wave, or a custom table you define.
Log & Replay
Record a session and play it back later to reproduce and study behavior.
Chart signals
Plot decoded signals over time and export the result for reports.
Bring your own AI agent
CANoli is the bridge between your CAN bus and your AI agent.
It speaks MCP, so it plugs into the AI tools you already use. Connect Claude Code, Codex, or any MCP-capable agent and it doesn't just answer questions, it controls CANoli. Ask it to build charts that surface issues hidden in the data, decode unknown IDs, flag anomalies, replay logs, and explain what's happening on the bus, all from plain English.
BYOAI: bring your own AI. Because you supply the agent, there's no AI subscription to CANoli and no per-token markup. You use the plan you already pay for and pick the model. The AI features need your own agent; everything else, including the DBC editor, works without one.
I've used CAN analyzers for over ten years, and I've lost whole afternoons scrolling through huge logs, hunting for a fault or just for the interesting moments I needed to show test results in a report. Recently I caught myself pasting those same logs into Claude to reverse engineer a vehicle's CAN bus, copying rows back and forth by hand.
Claude Sonnet 4.5 spotted that the protocol I was reversing used CANopen object dictionaries, something I wouldn't have figured out nearly as fast on my own. It is also remarkably good at untangling multiplexed signals, which are painful to pick apart by hand. CANoli is the tool I wanted the whole time: the CAN analyzer I know, wired straight to the AI I was already using.

Coming soon
On the roadmap for CANoli.
Instrument Panel Widgets
Build live dashboards from decoded signals: gauges, readouts, and indicators wired straight to the bus.
Python Scripting
Automate analysis and transmit logic with scripts that drive CANoli programmatically.
CANopen/J1939 Support
Higher-layer protocol support: J1939 PGNs and SPNs named for you, plus CANopen support that lets CANoli respond on the bus, not just listen.
